Where It Works -

Laser hair removal works by emitting light that’s absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in your hair. That light converts to heat, which damages the follicle that produces the hair, inhibiting and delaying future growth.
Because the laser targets pigment, it works best on dark hair and is most effective on light skin with dark hair — though with the right device and settings it can be used safely on a range of skin types.
Honest note: very light, gray, blonde, or red hair has little melanin to target, so it responds poorly to laser — we’ll tell you at your consult whether you’re a good candidate.
How It Works -
Before, during, and after.
Before: Shave the area within 24 hours of your appointment (we need the root intact but the surface clear). Don’t wax, pluck, or thread for about 4 weeks beforehand, and avoid sun and self-tanner.
During: Both devices use cooling for comfort; most patients describe a quick, warm snap. Sessions are efficient — small areas take just minutes.
After: Mild redness or little bumps (like light razor burn) are normal and fade quickly. Avoid sun, hot tubs, and heavy sweating for a day or two.
Your series: Because hair grows in cycles and the laser only affects hairs in their active growth phase, you’ll need a series — most patients need 6–10 treatments, spaced several weeks apart, with occasional touch-ups to maintain.
